The SEC once again proved its dominance on the national stage during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Out of the top 30 prospects we previously highlighted, 13 heard their names called on opening night — the highest from any single conference. Names like Will Campbell (Patriots), Jalon Walker (Falcons), Mykel Williams (49ers), Kelvin Banks Jr. (Saints), and Malaki Starks (Ravens) led the charge in what was a banner night for the league.
Now, as Day 2 approaches, several high-profile SEC stars remain on the board — many of whom could make immediate NFL impacts. Here’s a look at the best available SEC prospects still waiting to be drafted on Rounds 2–3.
Best Available SEC Prospects for Day 2
1. Luther Burden III – WR, Missouri
A polished route-runner with elite YAC ability. Don’t let his 2024 stat dip fool you — he’s still a dynamic playmaker who could thrive in the right system.
2. Nic Scourton – EDGE, Texas A&M
An athletic and versatile pass rusher who brings 3-4 and 4-3 flexibility. He’s still developing but carries a ton of upside for edge-needy teams.
3. Tate Ratledge – IOL, Georgia
A plug-and-play right guard with excellent strength and mobility. Ratledge offers a great combination of physicality and awareness.
4. Deone Walker – DT, Kentucky
One of the most physically intimidating DTs left on the board. His size, burst, and versatility make him a true sleeper for round two.
5. Mason Taylor – TE, LSU
A versatile tight end with reliable hands and solid blocking ability. Taylor could become a QB’s best friend in the right offensive scheme.
6. Tre Harris- WR, Ole Miss
Tre Harris’ final season with the Rebels was cut short due to injury, but he was able to finish out his collegiate career with a 1,000-yard season. The former Louisiana Ragin Cajun has efficient hands and is not afraid of contact with the opposing defender. Teams such as Tennessee Titans, who could use another young talent at the position, could be an ideal destination.
7. Nick Emmanwori – S, South Carolina
An athletic safety with excellent size and range. Emmanwori is physical enough to play in the box but instinctive enough for deep coverage.
8. Dylan Sampson – RB, Tennessee
An explosive playmaker with top-end speed and vision. Sampson is the type of Day 2 back who can thrive in a committee or zone-heavy system.
9. Isaiah Bond – WR, Texas
Bond brings elite speed and big-play ability — a Day 2 weapon for vertical offenses. His route refinement will determine his role early on.
10. Alfred Collins – DT, Texas
Raw, but freakishly powerful with great length. His run-stopping ability and potential as a pass rusher make him an intriguing pick.
11. Emery Jones Jr. – OT, LSU
Reliable and experienced, Jones projects as a developmental right tackle with starting potential.
12. Princely Umanmielen – EDGE, Ole Miss
One of the more refined pass rushers still available. Umanmielen has a productive résumé and could step into a rotational role immediately.
13. Jalen Milroe- QB, Alabama
Jalen Milroe watched Jaxson Dart become the only QB selected from the SEC during the first-round on Thursday. Between Quinn Ewers and Milroe, which SEC passer will be taken next? Ewers may be the more polished passer between the two, but all signs point towards Milroe being selected as a day two prospect over Ewers, based on his ceiling. He’s a dynamic runner, has a cannon for an arm, but not accurate.
14. Trey Amos- CB, Ole Miss
Standing at 6’1” and weighing in around 200 pounds, Amos offers prototypical size for an outside corner. He plays with controlled aggression, shows excellent awareness in both man and zone coverages, and isn’t afraid to mix it up at the line of scrimmage. His fluid hips and quick feet allow him to mirror receivers, while his length gives him the ability to disrupt passing windows and high point the football.
Amos’ 2024 campaign with the Rebels was his most complete, where he showcased consistent technique and solid ball skills despite not being heavily targeted — a testament to his effectiveness in coverage. His toughness as a tackler and ability to contribute on special teams further boost his stock.
15. Cameron Williams – OT, Texas
Massive tackle prospect with raw ability. Needs refinement, but his ceiling is enticing.
16. Landon Jackson- EDGE, Arkansas
Landon Jackson remains one of the most intriguing edge rushers available heading into Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. At 6’7” and over 270 pounds, Jackson boasts the ideal frame and length for an NFL defensive end. His size is matched by an aggressive play style, consistently using his reach and power to overwhelm offensive tackles in both the run and pass game.
Over his final two seasons at Arkansas, Jackson delivered steady production, racking up 13 sacks and over 20 tackles for loss. He brings a high motor and a relentless approach, often winning with effort, leverage, and physicality. What sets Jackson apart is his ability to diagnose plays quickly, allowing him to close off running lanes and disrupt timing on the edge.
While his pass-rush arsenal still has room to expand, his combination of size, toughness, and SEC-level experience makes him a Day 2 steal with high upside. For a team needing immediate rotational depth and long-term starter potential at defensive end, Jackson is one of the best value picks remaining on the board.
17. Quinn Ewers- QB, Texas
Since 2023, Quinn Ewers accumulated a record of 21-5 as the Texas Longhorns starting quarterback. Despite playing most of his final season battling injuries, Ewers threw for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. However, his overall performance in 2024 effected his stock as a first-round prospect. But his slide can be viewed as a positive. Sometimes it’s better for players to take a fall in the draft and land with better organizations. That could be the case for Ewers in day 2.
