Phillip Wright Flips from Michigan to LSU

Once again, the LSU Tigers have flipped another highly coveted prospect. This time, it was in their backyard in Louisiana. Destrehan High School standout Phillip Wright is recognized as the state’s third-highest-ranked wide receiver. In July, Wright committed to joining the Michigan Wolverines, but everything changed when LSU invited him to attend the program’s annual Bayou Splash event. After taking in the scenes of the LSU campus and the atmosphere of Death Valley, Wright had a change of heart. A few days after attending the event, Wright reopened his recruitment.

On Friday, it was reported that Wright had decided to remain in his home state and join the LSU Tigers. Listed at 5’11, 175 pounds, and known for his blazing speed, Wright is rated as a three-star prospect who will join a 2025 recruitment class that features five-star wideouts Derek Meadows and Taron Francis, the state’s top-ranked wide receiver.

Right now, LSU has the third-ranked recruiting class for 2025. Insiders have stated that more moves will be made in the coming weeks, which could place the Tigers as the number one-ranked recruiting class. If the coaching staff can keep the 2025 class together, it could pay huge dividends regarding national title aspirations. The Destrahan native gives the Tigers 21 prospects for the class of 2025.
