NFL Week 12 Game Previews, Picks, and Predictions
Titans (2-8) vs. Texans (7-4): Add another win to the Texans record as they plow through a weak AFC South division. Prediction: Titans 17, Texans 34
Vikings(8-2) vs. Bears (4-6): Expect more struggles on offense for the Bears as they face division rival, the Minnesota Vikings. Prediction: Vikings 27, Bears 17
Commanders (7-4) vs. Cowboys (3-7): It’s been a while since both the Commanders and Cowboys have had something to play for heading into their showdown. But this time, the two rivals have switched roles. The Commanders are amid a playoff push, while the Cowboys are on the outside looking in. Prediction: Cowboys 20, Commanders 38
Patriots (3-8) vs. Dolphins (4-6): The Dolphins are expected to win Sunday’s game against the Patriots, but don’t be surprised if the outcome goes the other way. Despite losing endings, the Patriots are playing much better with rookie quarterback Drake Maye under center. Prediction: Patriots 21, Dolphins 31
Chiefs (9-1) vs. Panthers (3-7): The Carolina Panthers are riding a two-game winning streak as they head into their Week 12 showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have struggled with many opponents this season, but I don’t expect the Panthers to put up that type of fight on Sunday. Prediction: Chiefs 28, Panthers 17
Buccaneers (4-6) vs. Giants (2-8): With Mike Evans returning to the starting lineup, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have enough firepower to knock off the New York Giants and end their four-game losing skid. Buccaneers 38, Giants 13
Lions (9-1) vs. Colts (5-6): Is another beatdown on the horizon for the Detroit Lions? They have dropped 40 or more points on their opponents at least four times this season. Are the Indianapolis Colts the next on the list to feel the blunt force of Detroit’s firepower? Maybe, but the matchup has a lot at stake. The Lions are trying to lock up the number-one seed in the NFC, while the Colts are fighting to stay afloat in the AFC playoff picture. Expect the Colts to put up a fight, but the Lions will prevail. Prediction: Lions 35, Colts 24
Raiders (2-8) vs. Broncos (6-5): The Raiders are positioning themselves to have a top-five pick in next year’s NFL Draft. As a result, the Denver Broncos should easily cruise to another victory. Right now, Denver is the seventh seed in the AFC playoff picture. Prediction: Raiders 13, Broncos 34
Cardinals (6-4) vs. Seahawks (5-5): The Arizona Cardinals’ 6-4 record is no fluke, and they will prove that this Sunday against the Seahawks. Arizona has shown the most consistency of the two teams so far. Prediction: Cardinals 27, Seahawks 24
49ers (5-5) vs. Packers (7-3): The Packers will avenge last season’s playoff defeat to the 49ers in the rematch that will take place at Lambeau Field. San Francisco is just not the same team that they once were. Prediction: 49ers 20, Packers 27
Eagles (8-2) vs. Rams (5-5): The Eagles versus Rams matchup caps off the Week 12 late-game slate with battles filled with playoff implications. The Eagles have not lost since their Week 2 blunder against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. Their primary method of attack has been their running game, which has ranked first in the league. The Eagles’ opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, is not the team they once were around 2021, but their personnel makes them a formidable opponent. With how the playoff picture forms, the Rams must go on a consistent win streak to stay afloat. The Eagles versus Rams matchup winner will determine which team can impose what they do best on their opponent. The Eagles’ rushing attack averages 181.0 yards per game, while the Rams’ passing offense ranks them seventh in the league with 240.6. Prediction: Eagles 28, Rams 20
Ravens (7-4) vs. Chargers (7-3) Kansas City Chiefs, but they could emerge as a serious threat once the postseason begins. Jim Harbaugh didn’t take long to implement his culture in an organization known to fall short despite always having a talented roster. The Chargers extended their winning streak to four when they rallied late in the fourth quarter to defeat the Bengals 29-27. As for their opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, they are coming off a two-point loss to their division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Pittsburgh losing to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, the Ravens will have an extra incentive to defeat the Chargers on Sunday. Prediction: Ravens 28, Chargers 24
