Seth Henigan Ranked as 9th Best QB in College Football

From a national media perspective, everyone seems to be all in on the season prospects of the Memphis Tigers 2024 campaign. Multiple large publications list the team as the frontrunner to represent the Group of Five in the newest college football playoff system version, which will have 12 teams instead. The latest feature that recognizes what type of firepower this year’s roster contains is a story published by College Football Network. The outlet recently posted its top quarterback rankings for the 2024 season.

The list includes over 100 quarterbacks from the Group of Five, Independent, and the Power Four. It was a surprise that College Football Network listed Memphis quarterback Seth Henigan as the ninth-best quarterback in the sport for 2024. Even more shocking is that Henigan was ranked ahead of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, a signal caller expected to be taken high in next year’s NFL Draft.

“In a class of his own, Seth Henigan could set even more records in 2024 with the Memphis Tigers. After setting career-highs in every passing metric a season ago, Henigan reached the next echelon in terms of national notoriety and in the Tigers’ record books.

After setting the new record for passing yards in a career, Henigan enters this season on the precipice of setting new marks in just about every other career metric with Memphis in terms of quarterbacking. He’s 11 passing touchdowns away from Brady White’s career mark of 90 and just nine total touchdowns away from White’s 97 total touchdowns.

As impressive of a three-year career as anywhere in the country, Henigan’s elite level of play starter back in 2021 as a true freshman stands as a testament to his overall talent and ability to improve his game year in and year out. He’s a big-armed signal-caller with no fear and a sharp ability to read defenses.

When push comes to shove, Henigan makes the right decision often and has a creation capacity unlike most big-armed QBs of his stature. He’s much nimbler than he’s given credit for, and he uses that to his advantage to stave off pressure better than most quarterbacks in the country.

Henigan isn’t afraid of pressure, almost welcoming it at times with his ability to stand tall, evade rushers, and rebuild pockets coming naturally. There isn’t a level of the field that’s out of reach for Henigan either, and his arm talent overall is among the nation’s best.”

Henigan and the Tigers open their 2024 campaign at home on August 31 against North Alabama.
