Free agency and the NFL Draft have come and gone. Recently, the last significant transaction that will provide a forecast of what the Titans’ upcoming season may look like was the release of the 2024 schedule. On Wednesday evening, Titans fans finally got the dates and times of when the team will play in 2024. This article aims to provide a brief storyline for each opponent on the Tennessee Titans 2024 regular season schedule.

Chicago Bears: Week 1 (Away)

The Titan’s Week 1 matchup with the Chicago Bears will have a set of extra eyes on it due to the debut of the 2024 number-one overall pick, Caleb Williams. The former USC Trojan is expected to elevate a Bears roster that has undergone significant upgrades over the past two seasons.

New York Jets: Week 2 (Home)

The Titans’ Week 2 home opener starts with a matchup against the New York Jets. However, which version of Aaron Rodgers will the Titans face in Week 2? The Rodgers that won multiple MVPs, or the player that struggled significantly in the final season in a Packers uniform?

Green Bay Packers: Week 3 (Home)

The following week, the Titans face the quarterback who replaced Rodgers in Green Bay, Jordan Love. It seems like déjà vu. Back-to-back wins during the two weeks would be huge.

Miami Dolphins: Week 4 (Away)

The Week 4 matchup on the road versus the Miami Dolphins kicks off a gauntlet of tough challenges that features quarterbacks such as Josh Allen, Jared Goff, and Justin Herbert. On deck first is Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa. However, outside of Tagovailoa, the Dolphins present a roster containing the firepower that will test the Titans’ defense.

Indianapolis Colts: Week 6 (Home)

Week 5 is the start of division play for the Tennessee Titans. Their first opponent within the AFC South is the Indianapolis Colts. The matchup will also be the first time they will have a chance to face the Colts’ first-round pick from 2023, Anthony Richardson. Richardson briefly played in the first meeting but left for the rest of the game after suffering an injury that would end his season.

Buffalo Bills: Week 7 (Away)

The Titans going on the road to face the Buffalo Bills in mid-October will be a tough battle, plain and simple. Despite parting ways with players that have made them so dominant over the years, the Bills still view themselves as heavyweights in the AFC.

Detroit Lions: Week 8 (Away)

Like the Dolphins, the Detroit Lions possess the firepower that can break the will of the Titans’ defense. Along with the Bills, the Lions are expected to contend for a Super Bowl title this season.

New England Patriots: Week 9 (Home)

After a two-game road trip, the Titans return home to host the New England Patriots. The matchup will also feature the second rookie quarterback the Titans will face this season. New England selected Drake Maye out of North Carolina with the third-overall pick in the 2024 draft.

Los Angeles Chargers: Week 10 (Away)

By now, the Titans should know if Will Levis is their long-term answer at the quarterback position. His first nine weeks of the season were filled with many challenges that will demonstrate if he has mastered the new offense installed by first-year head coach Brian Callahan. As for the Week 10 showdown, Tennessee will get their first crack at the Jim Harbaugh-led Los Angeles Chargers. Harbaugh has been known for how fast he can turn around an organization he coaches. He’s done it at Stanford, the 49ers, Michigan, and his next objective is to turn around the Chargers. But will the Chargers become contenders in Harbaugh’s first year? If so, the Titans could have a tough battle on their hands.

Minnesota Vikings: Week 11 (Home)

The Titans could face their third rookie quarterback this season if Minnesota decides to install JJ McCarthy as their starter. All signs point to veteran and former first-round pick Sam Darnold becoming a projected starter for Minnesota.

Houston Texans: Week 12 (Away)

The Week 12 battle with the Houston Texans could be pivotal for playoff positioning and the AFC South title. The Texans went on a late-season surge to win the division title in 2023. They aim to defend their division crown in 2024 with a roster that will be significantly upgraded. The Week 12 matchup with Houston will feature a few familiar faces in former Titans players Azeez Al-Shaair and Denico Autry.

Washington Commanders: Week 13 (Away)

Playoff implications could be at stake when the Tennessee Titans face the Washington Commanders. However, will Washington be in the race as well? Don’t be shocked if theyDon’tvying for a postseason berth with rookie Jayden Daniels under center. Rookie quarterbacks tend to figure things out by having significant playing time during their first season.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 14 (Home)

If you recall how things played out down the stretch last season, the Titans ended the Jaguar’s pursuit of a second-straight playoff berth under head coach Doug Pederson. Revenge will be on the Jaguars’ minds when they face the Titans in Week 14.

Cincinnati Bengals: Week 15 (Home)

There’s always a bit of intrigue when a coach or former player faces a team he was a member of. That will happen when the Titans host the Bengals in Week 15. New head coach Brian Callahan served five seasons as the Bengals offensive coordinator.

Remaining Games to Closeout 2024 Regular Season

Colts: Week 16 (Home)

Jaguars: Week 17 (Away)

Texans: Week 18 (Home)

After the conclusion of the Bengals matchup in Week 15, the Titans will enter a gauntlet of matchups that feature AFC South opponents to close out the season. The action starts with a Week 16 matchup at home against the Colts, followed by away and home games against the Jaguars in the Texans. By this point in the season, the Titans will either be in the hunt for the AFC South or eliminated from contention before the three-game divisional slate even starts. Either way, the 2024 season will be a significant barometer to determine if Will Levis is the Titans’ long-term answer at quarterback.
